Welcome to the new Business Development Unit (BDU) of the Scandinavian Tourist Board (STB).

STB has been operating in Japan for more than 20 years, during which time it has broadened its activities well beyond its original core of promoting leisure tourism to the travel trade. Through the promotion of Technical visits and through joint promotion activities with commercial organizations, STB has developed an extensive knowledge base and network covering a broad range of branding activities involving Japanese and Scandinavian companies. Our mission at the BDU is to use this knowledge and network to support Scandinavian and Japanese clients for continuing the promotion of "Scandinavia" as a brand in international business between the two regions.

Although the unit will focus initially on Japan, it may be extended in future to include China and the rest of Asia.

We can assist you in many ways:
- Undertake market research, advise and assist you in feasibility studies and development of you business plans
- Act as a mediator between Scandinavian and Japanese parties in negotiations or introductions.
